7 kinds of useful apps to kickstart a good savings habit featured

TGIF, everyone! Today, I bring you a Finance Friday post. You probably noticed it from the title haha. I’ve only started working this year after my last Uni examinations last year. However, my finance habits stayed pretty much the same. I did a poll on Instagram and asked people to choose between a beauty-related post […]

Top 5 Useful Tips on Handling Your Finances Better

Top 5 Useful Tips to beat inflation and Handle Finances Better

Are you the kind that spends before saving? Or are you someone that saves a certain amount before spending? I was the former, but I am the latter now. I didn’t have much thoughts on how much savings I had before. However, after internships and taking a gap year working other jobs, seeing my money […]

Who Am I?

I’m Layna, a 20-something beauty and skincare enthusiast (also dog and cat lover) who lives in Singapore, where you’d either be drenched in sweat ☀ or rain ☔.

I decided to blog so that I can share my beauty reviews, relationship advices and even random $aving tips! Psst. I like bubble tea. And sashimi. Salmon.

Skin type: U-zone – normal | T-zone – oily | mild acne | visible pores | blackheads 😭

Foundation shade: NC 20-25 in MAC | No. 23 in Korean Foundations | 140 in Fenty Beauty | Fair Light Neutral in Tarte

I actually post short reviews on Instagram from time to time too, so follow me on there if you don’t wanna miss out! 🤗

Wew, hi 👋🏻 . I’ve been away for almost 7 months! T Wew, hi 👋🏻 . I’ve been away for almost 7 months! This is the longest break I’ve had on my IG and blog. And it’s pretty much needed because I recently moved house and work was piling up.

How’s everyone been? It doesn’t feel like it was a long period but I’ve started missing the interaction with everyone and I’ll probably start posting again soon! (Fingers crossed)

Till then, take care and stay safe!!!

Designed the above to remind myself that we don’t all have the same horizon despite being under the same sky. If you’re facing something tough, I hope you get through it ❤️
👋🏻 HEY GUYS! I’m (kinda) back! It’s been about a m 👋🏻 HEY GUYS! I’m (kinda) back! It’s been about a month plus into my new job so I’ve been pretty busy in the day time. My nights are spent relaxing and playing some games. I’ve been trying to get back into the groove to review things but it’s really hard?!?!

Makes me wonder how I did it last time. 🤔 anyway, it’s been raining almost everyday in Singapore now. This photo was taken literally minutes before a downpour lol.

That aside! How is everyone?? I’ve been working from home so it isn’t too taxing but somehow it’s quite different from working in an office. Which do/would you prefer? I’m picking the wfh basically because it saves me transportation and spendings on food outside 😂
—
Btw, I bought these 4 items because they were cheap/on sale and I wanted to try them. I actually really like the Aritaum idol real lash fixer. It doesn’t give much volume but it rly fixes! - it’s a primer / fixer / natural mascara all in one.

🌺 the innisfree blusher is also pretty and subtle. It’s not too pigmented so you can layer according to your preference.

And that mentos no sebum mineral powder 😂 I can’t not get it (I also needed it haha)

I also decided to try the Laneige glowy lip balm - not opened yet - because I wanted to try something new. 🥰
🥳 sharing some good news! I started work today. An 🥳 sharing some good news! I started work today. And it’s almost 11pm (as of posting), I’m beat from waking up so early for my first day. But at the same time, pretty grateful for this.

Here’s sharing the buys from Japan last October (yes, in 2019). It’s overdue photos that I didn’t like but decided to just post.

I should probably throw that mascara away now 😂 (it still works tho 😣).

Oh, btw I had an allergic reaction to the DHC lip balm, so that was a wasted buy. It happened during my trip too so I couldn’t wear lip products except TFS lip cream for half of my Japan trip. What a bugger. Happy memories though! Can’t wait to travel again ❤️.

The first to be reviewed is their physical sunscreen! This is the kind that dries semi-matte and yet does not feel drying on my skin.

Apart from that, it gives me a slight tone-up effect and also goes well when mixed with my foundation / applied before foundation - though that really depends if your foundation does go well with this.

The hours this keeps my oil at bay is pretty much the whole day with minimal oil at the end of the day. Keep it mind that there’s zero alcohol in this product as well.

Full review is up on the blog and if you’re interested to grab this with a 10% off, feel free to check out more on my milkshake website via my bio link!

Review link can then be found on the second page, just give it a swipe. ☺️
✨another recent buy - but I’ve only begun using th ✨another recent buy - but I’ve only begun using the KUNDAL Ultra Serum for hair. As for the Stridex, I shall wait to review other products before I begin on it.
—
I’m a little excited about using that but okay, I shall not put too much expectations on it. I also decided to get the 1% Salicylic Acid version, hence the blue tub.

If you’ve heard about Stridex, you might be more familiar with the red one that has 2%. I thought if this worked, then maybe I’ll go up the next level!

What’s one product that you wanna get soon? ☺️

Hope everyone has a great week ahead btw!!!
🍵it was a coincidence that it pumped a 💚 out (swip 🍵it was a coincidence that it pumped a 💚 out (swipe!) and that I replaced my matcha hemp hydrating cleanser with a green tea foam cleanser. #texturetuesday

Somehow, I always thought foam cleansers (no matter how much they market it as non-stripping) will make my skin feel dry/tight after.

But what these two cleansers share - apart from being matcha/green tea - is the fact that they make my skin feel soft after cleansing.

I also enjoy complementing the neogen with my IUIGA cleansing device; I do a half pump on the device and dot the 5 areas on my face (forehead, nose, both cheeks and chin).

A little goes a long way for both; the reason why my MHHC lasted so long for me 🥰 and how it looks extra used with the faded texts lol.

What were some misconceptions you had of certain products till you tried them?

Other than this foam cleanser ‘prejudice’, I used to think that most kinds of AHA/BHAs would sting your skin whenever you use it - way before I got deep into skincare.
💚has anyone seen such an interesting consistency f 💚has anyone seen such an interesting consistency from a toner?! Swipe to see what I mean. While it comes out like that, in a few seconds, it gradually becomes more liquid.

Also, the Harakeke extract apparently has more moisturising effects than the aloe vera and were used by the Maori people for skin stress and dryness as mentioned by The Saem 😯.

Definitely a random decision to buy this yet intriguing find.

I guess we always learn something new everyday!

My full review is up on the blog, checkout the link through my bio! Do swipe to the ‘links’ page ☺️.

I try to find formulas that aren’t sticky / absorbs fast for nighttime use as I like sticking my legs into my blanket without much tackiness. I think Aveeno did a pretty good job with this one, there’s almost pretty much no scent for it too.

As for the Nivea one, you do need to blend it well as there is a bit of white cast if you don’t. Once it’s well blended, I don’t think people can tell you applied sunblock on your body, though they may smell a hint of it.

It also has a BIT of tackiness but since it’s used in the day, I don’t think you’ll really notice it unless your legs / arms are constantly rubbing each other lol.
—
I’ll probably do a lengthy review of them on my blog eventually but if you have any questions, ask away!
⚡️swipe for the unboxing! Added these into my #ski ⚡️swipe for the unboxing! Added these into my #skincareroutine ever since it was gifted for review and it’s definitely being put to the test because ... that time of the month came. Before using these, I was having hormonal acne along with some maskne 😢 (so infuriating 🌚) and I’ve been taking photos of my skin to see how it progresses.
—
For tonight, I’m using the Glow Serum as a sleeping pack because that was one of the suggested usage too 😆. It’s still a little too early to give a proper review so let me continue testing it for y’all!
